Categories

The Categories widget displays a set of category cards in a horizontal carousel.

Each card typically shows an image, a title, and a button linking to a specific category or product overview. Depending on how your front-end has been configured, either a scroll bar or pagination and navigation arrows are shown if not all items are visible. On hovering the mouse, the cards may show a subtle zoom effect (if supported by the theme).

note

Custom widgets are described as they are defined for our standard (Mosaic) front-end theme. If the description does not match what you see on the screen, this is due to further customization that has been carried out specifically for your webshop's theme.

  • The Title defines the heading of the entire widget.
  • If Do you want to override the default slider settings? is checked, the default settings for the carousel can be overridden. Additional fields become available:
    • The Slider space between is the distance in pixels between visible items. Default: 20.
    • The Slides per view (XL) is the number of items shown for screens wider than 1200px. Default: 4.
    • The Slides per view (LG) is the number of items shown for screens wider than 992px. Default: 3.5.
    • The Slides per view .mdx) is the number of items shown for screens wider than 768px. Default: 2.5.
    • The Slides per view (SM) is the number of items shown for screens smaller than 768px. Default: 1.1.

Categories

note

At least one category is required for the widget to be functional. There is no fallback behavior if no categories are configured.

Click + ITEM for every category you want to add to the widget. The same fields are available for every category.

  • The Title is shown as the category label, underneath the image defined in the corresponding field.
  • The Image is a visual representation of the category. Use a square or rectangular image for the best layout.
  • The Image alt is the text description for the image to improve accessibility.
  • The Link defines where the user will be redirected when they click on the category card.
