VAT Switch
If a shop is set to show prices excluding Value-Added Tax (VAT), the VAT Switch feature provides a simple switch by which shop visitors can display prices including VAT. This switch is typically located in the shop's header, ensuring easy access at all times.
This feature is designed for webshops catering to smaller B2B customers who want to know net prices without needing to calculate VAT, and also allows a B2B shop to take orders from B2C customers.
It is important to understand the difference between the VAT Switch and the Consumer Price Mode.
- The VAT Switch displays the default price for end users and determines whether this price includes or excludes VAT.
- The Consumer Price Mode shows prices from an alternate price list, typically the consumer price list linked to the default party for consumer prices.
When creating the front-end for a shop with a VAT Switch, remember that this feature is only available when the shop details specify that prices are by default displayed excluding VAT. This setting is located in the Prices tab, in the field Tax Behavior.
Furthermore:
- The VAT switch is not available in the CloudSuite_responsive theme, so it must be added to the front-end theme.
- The VAT Switch is available in Mosaic Templates and can be hidden or shown depending on the customer.
- By default, the prices are shown excluding VAT and the
